A huge congratulations to Harlen Paraone in our Customer Service Water team who married his gorgeous bride Krystal on 27th of February in Whangarei.
The couple, who both grew up in Whangarei and met through a mutual friend, enjoyed an idyllic backyard wedding at the mother of the bride’s home – her partner creating a gorgeous garden setting including fitting an old pickup truck (pictured) with solar activated lights which lit up the venue come evening time.
“It was way better than any venue we could have chosen, the garden overlooks rolling hills, and the whole scene was really beautiful,” says Harlen.
Harlen says they were lucky to have, “dodged the biggest bullet,” managing to squeeze their wedding in between Auckland’s two level three lockdowns. “It was pretty stressful leading up to the actual day, wondering if the first lockdown would be extended,” he says. “The announcement about the second lockdown came on the night of the wedding – people’s phones were buzzing and there were a few who left early, and some who used it as a good excuse to extend their time up North.”
After the wedding the happy couple spent a few days in Ahipara, near Shipwreck Bay, at the family bach, which Harlen says was “absolutely magic.”
