Pancho the PASLR pup with a big heart
Pancho is the first born grand dog to Jackie Grant our Senior Accounts Manager and has a very special role as a big brother mentor to rescue dogs.
“Two of our other children also have dogs. We don’t have any grandchildren but at any given time we can have up to four or five grand dogs!” explains Jackie.
Pancho is an American Bulldog X and was born just days before Christmas 2018. He was a gift to Jackie’s son from his cousins, as a thank you for all the times he looked after Rudy and Bronx, Pancho’s parents.
“Pancho was from Rudy’s last litter of nine and was by far the cutest. He could always be found under a pile of puppies sound asleep. He lived with us for the first fifteen months. His granddad said he wasn’t allowed to live inside during the day but that didn’t last long and he soon became a much loved house dog,” she says.
He was an enthusiastic visitor to the PALSR offices as a pup and liked being spoilt by the office staff. Right on lock down in March 2020 he moved with his dad to his current home in Warkworth, so his office visits are now less frequent.
Pancho has been a big brother mentor during the last five years, to at least thirteen foster/rescue dogs who have come from Chained Dog Rescue. Some of these dogs have been abused, starved and mistreated and just need a safe, caring loving home until they recover and can be adopted out to their forever home.
Pancho loves his pack walks and playing with his friends. He also thinks he is a human, likes to sleep under the blankets with his head on a pillow and eat human food if he thinks he can get away with it. He loves his walks and helping mow the lawns with granddad, hates having a bath but loves the sea and thinks the vegie garden is his playground.
His favourite toys are anything cardboard – egg cartons, boxes, cardboard tubes and doggy toys with squeakers inside only last as long as it takes to get the squeaker out!
“He just brings so much joy to all of us,” says Jackie.
