How do know it’s time to upgrade to LED lighting?
- If your lights are on the blink, are malfunctioning or your power bill is huge. If you are constantly booking in emergency lighting repair, or if your power bill seems exorbitant it could be those old or faulty fluorescent lamps and fittings sucking up unnecessary energy. The Building Code requires illuminance of no less than 20 lux at floor level in exit ways, access routes and common spaces within buildings. If your staff are complaining about headaches, dizziness or dry eyes it could be fluorescent light is to blame. Fluorescent light contains invisible pulsing or flickering, which is invisible to the naked eye but is still transmitted into the brain, setting off a chain reaction of neurological activity. It is likely why so many report these lights as a migraine trigger. Switching to LED lighting could make for a much more comfortable and productive working environment.
- They are ugly! There’s no other way to put it, older style lighting definitely dates your property. People often underestimate the difference modern lighting can make to a space from both a efficiency and aesthetic perspective.
