Save up to 40% on your water bill with rainwater collection

Water has become an ever increasing precious resource, so when it falls freely from the sky, why let it go down the drain?
Non-potable water, the water you use in your laundry, toilet and outdoors, accounts for around 40% of total household water usage. Instead of drawing on council mains supply for this you can collect and reuse rainwater. Rainwater is simply collected from your roof into a tank. From there it is pumped to where it is needed within your home.
3 reasons to collect rainwater
- Save up to 40% on your water bill
- Be prepared in case of an emergency, drought or water shortage
- Do your bit for the environment

Setting up a rainwater collection and reuse system can be relatively quick and simple – if you know what you’re doing! Here are some of the ways you can start enjoying using rainwater in your home.
New builds – If you are embarking on a new build and want to incorporate a rainwater harvesting system (many councils now require that you do).
Retrofits – If you want to start collecting and reusing rainwater at your current property.
Repairs and upgrades – If you have a rainwater tank that has been sitting gathering dust, not rain because something’s not quite right or if you are frustrated having to constantly switch the controller over manually.
What you need to get started
A tank – Rainwater is usually collected from the roof of your house and stored in a tank which either sits above the ground or below ground. You can choose a bespoke, slimline tank in almost any shape and size to suit your home and your requirements. You can also work with your existing tank.
A pump – If your tank is below the ground, then you’ll need a submersible pump which sits inside the tank. If your tank is above the ground, then your pump will sit outside of the tank. Make sure you choose a good quality pump that is suited to the job.
A controller – This is a key component in making the system a success. The Davey RainBank® smart controller sits between the pump and the pipe work, its job is to tell the pump to go and works to seamlessly switch your water supply from tank water to mains water whenever you need it.

From specifying the right components for your unique situation, to fully installing a system and plumbing it in, PASLR are your one stop shop for rainwater collection and reuse.
