Meet the crew: James Suico - Pump Technician
James started with the PASLR team in November 2024, after immigrating from the Philippines in March. Before finding the right job, James enjoyed travelling the country – exploring the South Island, Rotorua and everywhere in between.
“The Philippines is a lovely country but what I’m really enjoying here is the environment – the clean air and the nature,” he says.
James studied electrical engineering in the Philippines and thanks to Immigration New Zealand’s ‘Green List’ of jobs, he is able to transfer his qualifications so he can work as a fully certified electrician here in New Zealand.
Previously James worked on the electrical side of industrial pumps within automation systems, and while residential and commercial pumps are slightly smaller, he says the same principles apply.
“One of the statements I think embodies the essence of what PASLR stands for is, ‘We do ordinary things extraordinarily well.’ While some of our tasks seem ordinary, it’s how we approach these tasks that sets us apart. At PASLR every action we take is driven by excellence – we ensure attention to detail, high quality work and are focussed on delivering the best results for our customers – no matter how simple a task is, it holds the potential to make a significant difference in someone’s life,” he says.
