Meet the crew: Klippie - Part Time Pooch
Born in South Africa, six-year-old Boston Terrier Klippie moved to New Zealand with his parents in 2024 and has been a regular in the office since mum Marizanne joined the PASLR team in April.
Marizanne says she was the one pushing her husband Janlu to get a dog. “One day we decided on a breed, and I took that as confirmation. I did a bit of online research, a week later I went and bought the dog and surprised Janlu after work. He was happy, my cat was not, but they grew to love each other,” she says.
Life with Klippie has been an adventure ever since. He is quite the Houdini, having escaped from multiple places including a resort where he was holidaying and not long after arriving in New Zealand he dug a hole under the fence and got himself impounded.
“Luckily someone found him, but unfortunately, he was not registered yet. I had to rush out during my lunch break to fetch him from the pound and bring him back to work. Thank goodness my colleague took it upon herself to give him all the necessary affection, because I was not pleased at all,” says Marizanne.
